I have been a
big fan of the Nero Wolfe books and was real sorry to see that they were
no longer coming out. Can you tell me if you decided not to write them
anymore or if the publisher decided not to publish them anymore.

Thanks very much for you kind note. My decision to not continue the Nero Wolfe series several years ago was partially my own choice and partially that of my publisher, Bantam Books. As much as I had enjoyed doing the Wolfe books, I had wanted to develop my own character, which finally has happened with THREE STRIKES YOU'RE DEAD. A big thank you to Karen Syed and Echelon Press for bringing back the very clever and entertaining writing of Robert Goldsborough. I have just finished my first chronological reading of the entire corpus of Nero Wolfe stories and consider the 7 additional novels by Mr. Goldsborough to greatly enhance the entire series. The great mystery writer Max Allan Collins is right on with his praise for Mr. Goldsborough. I met Mr. Collins at Bouchercon 24 in 1993, and Mr. Goldsborough at an Omaha book signing 11-17-1992. We are thrilled to have Mr. Goldsborough as a member of the Echelon team. As a Nero Wolfe fan, I was already a fan of the continuation when this new project came to us. There was a very brief moment in time that we feared a lack of our own objectivity when considering Three Strikes for publication. Then I read it! Fans of Mr. Goldsborough will be excited to know that this book is an excellent expression of the author's talent and we are all confident that Steve Malek will win readers over and take his rightful place as one of the genres great characters.
